One thing which often surprises first-time visitors to Mull, and makes many people become regular visitors, is the great variety of landscape, activity and wildlife which the island offers.
Whether one wants tranquil deciduous woodlands, stunning seascapes, heavenly beaches or imposing mountains, Mull can provide them all. There is even a waterfall that is so impressive it was named twice - Eas is waterfall in Gaelic and Fors is waterfall in Norse.
The Isle of Mull has just one Munro (a hill over 3,000 feet) and that is Ben Mor. However it is set in a wonderful position on the shores of Loch Na Keal, which allows an ascent to start from sea level.
As we have said, Mull has a great deal to offer those interested in wildlife. Here we have a few ideas of activities which visitors might be interested in:
Sea Eagle Hide
A visit to the Sea Eagle Hide not only gives the opportunity to see these magnificent birds but also to learn from the knowledgeable wardens about much of Mull's wildlife. Details are available here. Please note that this link will open in a new window.
